Case study · RESTAURANT TECH
Real-time digital menus. Same QR code. Always current.
THE CHALLENGE
Restaurant owners were printing new menus every time a price changed, a dish ran out, or a seasonal item was added. QR codes on tables pointed to static PDFs that went stale within days. Updating the menu meant a design file, a print shop, and table disruption — every single time.
THE SOLUTION
We built a live catalogue system backed by Firestore. Each table gets one permanent QR code generated at setup. The code never changes. The moment an owner updates a price, toggles an item off, or publishes the food of the day — every diner who scans sees it instantly. No reprinting. No app. No lag.
WHAT WE BUILT
Live menu updates
Change prices, add dishes, or mark items unavailable. Every table reflects the change in under a second.
Permanent QR codes
Generated once at table setup. The code never changes, even when the entire menu does.
Food of the day
Highlight a daily special in a prominent banner — the first thing diners see when they scan.
Special offers
Create time-limited promotions with optional countdowns that appear at the top of the catalogue.
Mobile-first diner view
Optimized for phones. Fast-loading, no app required, works on any device, any browser.
Owner dashboard
A clean web dashboard to manage categories, items, photos, and pricing — no technical knowledge needed.
TECH STACK
THE RESULT
2,000+
Restaurant owners cut menu reprint costs entirely. During a pilot with three restaurants, the platform handled over 2,000 menu views in the first month with zero owner interventions needed between updates.
